Stanley Cup Finals in Vancouver 06/11

Its fair to say that most of our lives were engulfed by the excitement of the Vancouver Canucks making the Stanley Cup Finals here in British Columbia over the past few weeks. Something like this does not come around often so true hockey fan or not, its pretty easy to get caught up in the energy that surrounds our favorite sporting past time and Canadian heritage. A few of the nice people I worked with at VANOC on my Olympic project moved on to the Canucks organization and asked me to come work on a similar book based on the Stanley cup Finals. I have to admit Game 5 was probably the most exciting event I had ever shot. The energy and the positivity of the crowd was unreal and I could not wait to shoot game 7. Unfortunately the energy was not there for both the Canucks or the fans on game 7 and resulted in a heartbreaking loss to the Bruins. Human energy and emotion is what makes these types of photos come alive more than the subjects themselves I think. We saw the best, and the worst Vancouver has to offer in such a short time frame.
