Deep Winter 2011 Winning show
This was the first time I have been able to participate in this contest and it turned out to be an amazing experience that drives right from the soul of Whistler. Stormy weather and difficult conditions are of staple of Whistler and this event did not disappoint this year. All the shows were truly amazing and I think this event will only gather more steam. The most exciting part is putting together a custom made show presented the way we want to show it in front of a local whistler audience. Very cool. Thanks to Margus Riga and Mike Taylor for helping on the production end, and our skiers Dan Treadway, Kye Petersen, and Matty Richard. Thanks to everybody that came out to the Chateau Whistler to see the show!

After viewing your slideshow, I’m truly disappointed that I missed the 2011 Deep Winter contest. Many other contestants entered and gave you a run, however your ability to capture the athlete and his world in motion is second to none. I moved to Whistler growing up on images of the likes of Mr. Dan Treadway, I was inspired by the adventures of Trevor Petersen & the perseverance of his son Kye, and motivated by the likes of Matty Richard…the ultimate snowman! However, skiing is one thing and capturing images is another thing. And, well your ability to frame those images in time like nobody else is what sets you apart. One thing is for sure, I won’t be missing the 2012 Deep Winter Photo Challenge, and I will encourage others to attend and support you! All the best for the rest of 2011 and beyond my friend.
