Memoirs from Kashmir part one

Anytime the opportunity comes up to photograph far off lands that contain a non stop sensory overload of images, you have to go. I was lucky enough to get a last minute call from Mike Douglas to work on a Salomon Freeski TV episode on the new New Zealand run Heli skiing opporation in Gulmarg India. These guys have been trying for six years since the re-opening of the highest gondola in the word in 2005 after years of conflict throughout the nineties. This year they succeeded in getting permission for the government and a whole new world has been opened up. I jumped on a plane with Chris Rubins, Tristan Knoertzer, and Anthony Bonello for what has so far been a great adventure. With Lots of snow in the forecast and the heli waiting out front and the highest gondola in the world, we should be in for an unforgetable trip. If your a traveller and a skier, this is one of the top five places in the world you should go in your time.

  3. Mr. Blake Jorgenson,
Love the images. Some great work. Love the shots of the sledding. Reminds me of my adventures to the North Of India.

    Cheers

  4. Awesome Blake, great shots. Stoked to meet up with you guys too. I just spent a day with Elliot up at Temple Basin in NZ, he is patrolling up there.
